Comprehensive Medical Response to Women Subjected to Violence
Violence against women and girls is one of the most common and widespread violations of human rights in Egypt and worldwide. Healthcare providers are often a women’s first point of contact when they experience any form of physical violence, including sexual assault or intimate partner violence. Hence, it is critical that health care providers are adequately trained to identify survivors and provide them with the needed essential quality physical and mental health care. This three-day online training program aims to equip healthcare professionals with the necessary knowledge around gender-based violence (GBV), and develop their skills to enable them to provide first-line immediate and quality support for survivors of violence using the WHO LIVES approach (Listen, Inquire, Validate, Enhance Safety and Support).
